With over 30 years of productive work experience, I have been prayerfully seeking an opportunity to serve God in missions. I recently completed the perspectives course for world missions which opened my eyes to missions in a new way. Over the past three years I have participated in several cross-cultural, short-term missions projects to Mexico, Estonia, Ghana and Alaska through my church.

I would like to participate in a missions research project which hopefully would be of help to your organization, while at the same time allows us to get better acquainted. As God would lead, my longer range goal would be to transition from my present job to a research related missions position. I received the name of your mission agency through the Finishers Project.

I am sending you a Ministry Advancement Profile (MAP) Report which is part of a new service provided by the Finishers Project in cooperation with the IDAK Group. This report represents over 13 hours of completing aptitude testing exercises and individual consultation sessions with an IDAK certified counselor.

I would like to explore a way to serve God and your mission by doing a missions research project which hopefully may be of help to your team. I do not expect to research any topic which is in my technical field of fiber optics, the more unique the better as long as it focuses on missions in some way. I suggest a project which would be approximately 2-6 months in duration. I propose to contribute my own time, expenses and equipment.

To further explore this proposal, would you forward this letter and attached MAP Report and resume to the appropriate department director in your organization.
