Q: Why do I have to pay for an assessment?
A. As with any valuable service, there is a cost to getting professional help. Lawyers, doctors, marriage counselors all charge fees. The cost for the Finisher's Ministry Match Assessment is one of the best and most economical you will find anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.
Q. How do I know if my spouse will benefit?
A. We recommend that one of you register for the service first. After completing it, you will know how it applies to a future ministry that both of you can do separately or as a team. Your spouse is encouraged to participate in the first assessment.
Q. I'm not ready to make a change now, but I'm thinking about something in the next few years. When is the best time to complete this Ministry Assessment?
A. The earlier you start, the more time you have to build relationships, explore options and prepare for your ministry transition. Adjusting to a new service culture takes time to build. The more people you meet in your selected organization, the better the fit and easier the transition there will be.
Q. What age is the optimum for this service? Can you be too young or too old?
A. There is no age limit. IDAK has counseled many clients who are beyond 50 years of age. IDAK also assists colleges and seminaries to service their students at ages 21 and beyond. IDAK's service is best for those 30 years and older and is not recommended for ages less than 21.
Q. I have completed various types of aptitudes tests. How is the IDAK system different? Will my previous test results complement this service?
A. The IDAK Group exclusively focuses on natural talents. These traits are God-given. Their service is designed for Christians seeking a future ministry direction. Also, they have 20,000 ministry options that will be matched to your aptitudes. Most other aptitude tests are a blend of personality, interests and other traits and contain less than 2,000 ministry or career options. IDAK also assesses interests, values and personality traits as separate categories of aptitudes.
You can provide any of your previous aptitude test results for your IDAK counselor. He/she can explain how they fit within the IDAK system.
Q. What if ministry service at this time in my life is not a good fit?
A. This is a common concern. There are so many challenging types of ministry service options that there will always be at least ten "best fit" recommendations. On the other hand, if there are issues in your life at this time which might complicate a smooth transition to ministry service, your counselor is prepared to recommend other excellent career options. Also, your counselor can discuss questions about college and/seminary education. There are many opportunities that do not require formal education.
