The cost is half a weekend plus $60 Click Why below to each question. Why does the event cost so much? Why does the event cost so little? Have an impact for God among the nations... ...and the time of your life! The regional FINISHERS FORUM will provide you with insights into options in missions that are surprisingly suited for your skills and passions. The Finishers Project is committed to opening doors for you to walk through at your own pace, on your own timetable as you sense the Lord's leading. Why does the Regional Finishers Forum event cost so much? First there are $6-8,000 of fixed expenses to cover. This involves travel, brochures postage and the like. Then there are expenses per person for the notebooks and food at $20-25 per person. An honorarium expense of $5 per person is budgeted. These costs must be covered to sustain the movement. There is a sentiment among folks that the forum event should be free or cost a nominal amount. After all, isn't true that if mission agencies need people they should bear the expense of an event with a recruiting element to it? However, this is not principally a recruiting event. It is designed to be a safe place for people to explore. The goal is to encourage people to focus on the mandate of discipling the nations, being intentional witnesses by representing Christ home or abroad. The Finishers Forum is not intended to put an agenda on anyone — that comes from the Holy Spirit. Further, this is missions. Each ministry, like each church, must raise its own funds. There simply is not an abundance of funds in mission organizations to sponsor conferences. The fundamental dynamic is that people being evangelized or discipled among the nations do not pay for this service. Salvation is free, but the debt we owe, once we have been redeemed, is huge. All to Him we owe. Nevertheless, mission agency members ache seeing the need and the scarcity of workers. It is still true after 2000 years, the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few. Why does the Regional Finishers Forum event cost so little? Normally, a conference of the length of the Regional forum would cost between $295 and $595 in the secular world. Why is the cost so low? A lot of time and services are donated. Conference administration is done mostly by mission ageny personnel on full support. This includes keeping track of delegate and exhibitor registrations along with a myriad of program details. Those working locally are kingdom-minded laborers that donate their time. This includes a lot of leg work to get the word out among regional churches. Radio announcements are done as a Public Service announcements. As you might imagine there are some local expenses. These are not reimbursed from delegate fees. These costs are shared among participating churches. The church that hosts the event, does so without charge even though there is time and expense associated with hosting the event. Other services that are donated include leading worship, sound system, most speakers and workshop leaders. They receive no monetary compensation or an honorarium. Travel expenses of the national leadership team members that attend are unreimbursed — all to keep the price as low as possible so as not to be a stumbling block to conference delegates. Return to Top
