FINISHERS PROJECT NETWORK (LXX) PARTICIPATE
Background
The Finishers Project was founded in 1998 with a vision to make it easy for Christian adults to be engaged in God's assignment to make disciples of all nations. The vision was implanted in the heart of one generic evangelical baby-boomer, Nelson Malwitz, who was challenged to give back to God what God had so generously blessed him with and had a passion to help others do the same.
He, along with other church and mission leaders resonated with the idea, and saw it as an opportunity for today's healthy and well-educated adults to give the Lord their time, talents and resources during the second half of their lives. It's an opportunity for marketplace Christians, who have the impulse, to shift away from laying up earthly treasures to laying up heavenly treasures.
The first Finishers Forum was hosted by the Navigators along with more than 30 leading mission agencies. Pastor and author John Piper articulated the challenge to make the vision real to each person in attendance at the sold out conference.
Now, Finishers Project has more than 85 mission agency partners, has helped place 100 people a year in full time mission assignments, and has nearly 5000 candidates in its database. It also hosts bi-annual national forums with ACMC and regional forums with Global Resources, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ.
